About LOGOS
There are over 1,500 Youth Club ministries, also known as The LOGOS Ministry, across the United States. LOGOS enables a local church to offer its young people the positive aspect of relationship building on a weekly basis. Young people enjoy Christian fellowship through creative recreational activities, participation in worship/choir, group study of contemporary and Biblical values, and through sharing a meal together.

LOGOS meets the needs of youth, and it has proved to be a valuable tool for family involvement and renewal, as parents and other members of the church are drawn into active participation. LOGOS is not a substitute for standard programs of Christian Education, but rather another area of that education and a strong supplement to already existing programs. LOGOS is designed to enhance, extend, and improve the existing programs of Christian Education.

Purpose of LOGOS
There are four major purposes for LOGOS. 1) To create an understanding and desire in young people for accepting Christ as Lord and Personal Savior, 2) To develop intelligent, active, and loyal membership and leadership in the church, 3) To give worthwhile study, wholesome recreation, and opportunities for service, all bound up in a true Christian fellowship, 4) To develop the kind of Christians who are able and willing to communicate their faith and to assume personal responsibility in assisting in the building of God's kingdom on Earth.

Bible Hour
Bible Hour is the heart of LOGOS. The goal is to nurture children and youth into intelligent, obedient, and Biblically informed discipleship. LOGOS offers courses for youth from Pre K to High School. Each group focuses on different aspects of the Bible that are relevant to their age in life. Weekly, groups Grade 1 to Grade 8 are assigned memory work. Through this work and with support and encouragement, God's Word will grow in the minds of our young people.

Worship Skills
The goal of worship skills time is to develop responsibility for and practice in worship skills since worship is our primary service to God as disciples. Youth club members are required to participate in the choir appropriate to their age group under the direction of the staff. Each choir is assigned scheduled participation time in Sunday morning worship. This participation deepens the young person's understanding of his/her responsibility to worship God faithfully. The schedule for participation in Sunday worship is handed out at the beginning of each LOGOS year.

Activity Time
The goal of activity time is to experience great fun at the expense of no one. In addition to the various forms of study, there are supervised crafts and recreation programs scheduled throughout the year for each participant in LOGOS. These activities cover a broad range of interests and provide a time where meaningful relationships between youth and adults have the opportunity to grow.

Family Time
The goal of family time is to provide a joyous, intergenerational celebration of personhood over a shared meal as the family of God. Family time is celebrated in the fellowship hall. At 6:00 p.m. everyone is invited for a shared dining experience. This will be the one period in which all LOGOS participants will be together. Sharing a meal together is an essential part of the LOGOS program, providing an opportunity for the cultivating of a unique sense of "God's family". During family time, there will be time for table talks, singing, skits, table games, and special annual events like spoon hanging and cup stomping.

Registration & Fees
Registration is accomplished by filling out LOGOS enrollment forms and by attendance of a parent at the parent meeting. Registration fees are to be paid at the parent's meeting. Parents are required to sign up for their parental commitment at the parent meeting. National policy is to close registration two weeks after the semester begins. LOGOS generally follows the public school year and is divided into two semesters, totaling 30 weeks.

Fees are maintained at a reasonable cost, but may change year to year due to certain factors. Parents may pay the fees for the entire LOGOS year, or may pay by semester. No one is excluded from LOGOS because they can not afford the fees. Scholarships are available if financial help is needed. All scholarships are help in confidence. Please contact the church to learn about the current fees or available scholarships for LOGOS participation. Remember that Christian Education isn't costly - it's priceless.

Parent Participation
The LOGOS program enables parents to fulfill a portion of the basic responsibilities set by God for them in the raising of their children. Parent's are to take an active roll in their children's lives by helping with assignments, encouraging regular participation, counseling them, and rearing them in "the nurture and admonition of the Lord".

Nursery/Kid Care
ORL realizes that in order for many parents to participate in LOGOS each Wednesday, we must provide child care services. If you have you have young children, and wish to participate with older children in LOGOS, we have options available to you. Please contact the church to learn more about Nursery and Kid Care during LOGOS.

Discipline Policy
The rules for discipline in youth club are simple. We are to treat everyone as a child of God. No one (adults included) is to treat anyone as if they matter less than anyone else. If we all abide by this rule there will be no discipline problems. Disciplinary problems will be dealt with immediately and on an individual basis. A parental contact will be made if a discipline situation continues to cause hurt to children or adults/ Students will receive individual tutoring if they are unable to participate in a group setting.

Guests
Guests are welcome at LOGOS. Guests will need to complete a form and get a parents signature before attending. There will also be a meal fee for the guest. Guests are will be expected to stay with the LOGOS member who brings them. Guests may attend LOGOS only twice during a semester, and members may only bring one guest per week.
